My Problems. God's Solutions.

HMB Hike With Farlito, originally uploaded by Schmeesy.

I cannot wait to move Coastside. I know I've been talking about this for at least a year, but today I have been especially thinking about it. Maybe it's because of the rain or because I am sitting at home doing laundry and finally have time to think about something other than work or school. What is more likely, though, is that today I have simply realized that I look at my life and see all of these problems whereas God looks at my life and sees all of the possibilities for solutions. Each time I turn in a different direction, I'm simply walking through an open door to another of God's solutions for what I consider my current problem. Now I just need to find a way to get through those open doors without getting caught on the door jambs or tripping over the sills. That may take another personal revelation.

Someday... and crafty dudes.

Someday I will post to this blog a little more regularly. I say this every time I post. And I mean it every time I post. This time I really, really mean it.

Tonight, I was simply logged into Blogger in order to follow my friend's blog - DudeCraft - and I thought since I was logged in I might as well post something. So, check out Paul's blog. Especially if you're a dude. And if you're crafty. Your secret's safe with me. ;-)

Published, Schmublished...

Well, it's finally happened. Not only have I
FINALLY returned to my Blog after some time away, but somebody likes my photography almost as much as I like it myself. ;) One of my photos has been chosen to be included in a Schmap of San Diego. It's a really cool idea. You should check it out. They use regular folks' photos to advertise the sights in a certain area. Of course, it's only obvious that MY photo would be chosen by Schmap since I have a certain affinity for creating words which begin with "schm." How fitting, schmitting.

I just hung up on Bert...

Yep. That's right. It's been that kind of day. I'm a little wack. Not wiggidy. Just the regular type. I've had a little sugar AND a little caffeine. But have no fear. I'm about to switch to Tequila. It is, after all, a Saturday night.

Anyway... Some of you may have noticed my absence, my lack of posting, if you will. Some of you may have even missed me. *crosses fingers* :) Well, the fact is that I, sadly, do not have my own computer at home. I know. I know. Play me your little finger violin and give me the pouty lip... Point being, my job does not necessarily allow me the time needed to post on a blog regularly. Especially with the newest member of the family having arrived on June 21st. Yep. My bosses had another baby. Another being is taking up some really cute space in our house. The best part about this news is that now my favorite future Stomp star has a future coffee drinker to love on, be jealous of, teach all his tricks to and otherwise be big-brotherly with. :) So, it's all good, people. And I promise not to be absent for so long EVER again.

I have some fun things to look forward to. My dad and stepmom are coming to visit next weekend. Their big hope is to visit Alcatraz. I think we can make that happen. So be looking for that update. ;) Word on the street is that I may, MAY, be getting a new laptop (read: iBook G4) thanks to my (sugar) daddy. After all, it will be his daughter's 35th birthday.

So, what are you getting me?? :)

Peace. Out. 'n all that.

Pi is yummy...

I totally horked this quote from the LiveJournal of an aquaintance back in Chicago. He got it from some other guy's LiveJournal and now I am passing it along to you. Spread the pi-love, people. Spread if far and wide. I love pi. I love geeks who love pi. Here is a link to a little site which I visit from time to time because I am a geek wannabe.

And now the stolen quote for which you have so patiently been waiting:

"Okay, on Monday morning at about 2 a.m., we all have to eat pie.
Why, you ask? Because it'll be Pi.
So on 3/14, at 1:59:27 in the morning, eat a slice of pie."

That is all.

All my pregnant friends are gettin' rowdy...

Yep. It's true. Officially ALL of my friends are pregant, or have recently given birth. And I, obviously, am prone to exaggeration. :) I'm not bringing up this fact (I use the term loosely...) as though it were a downer or a disappointment. No. In fact, to me it's quite exciting. I LOVE babies and children. No, I take that back. I actually LOOOOOOOOOOVE babies and children. I adore them. I think they are the only thing that is always right and always good in this world. I think that they are better than chocolate, except for maybe on a rainy evening. Then I'd choose the chocolate. My point, and I do have one, is that I think it's amazing that a lot of my friends are experiencing the birth process and parenthood. God bless 'em, the tired souls... And while I, in no uncertain terms, am ready to immediately and completely drop my wonderful single and very social life, I would like to just mention that I wouldn't mind getting in on some of that action, you know? About five times over. That's all. So tomorrow I get to visit yet another newborn in the hospital with his shiny, happy parents. *sigh* I should get some rest. I'll need whatever energy I still have after all my nights of dancing and partying for all that cooing and babbling... Goo. :)

Slacker. Apparently.

Well, here I am again. Yet, apparently, I can't seem to do this in any semblance of a timely fashion. *sigh* Please forgive my laziness, as I cannot attribute my lack of postings to anything but...

So, here it is March already. Wow. It's almost time to venture back to the Midwest as their snow may be melting soon and temperatures may be rising. I will be attending a friend's wedding in Grand Rapids, MI in early June. Let it be noted that after almost 4 years in San Francisco I still have not found it imperative to visit Tahoe during the winter. Whilst I miss the beauty and the quiet softness and the idea of snow, I certainly have not felt any need to voluntarily surround myself with the chilly wet substance. I will be glad to be excited about snow again sometime in the future, but am most content to stay in this temperate Northern California climate until such a miracle happens. Even with all the rain... *wink* :)

Well, I just wanted to let you all know that even though some of you have voiced your opinions regarding "silly" online dating sites such as eHarmony and Yahoo! Personals I have, yet again, joined the forces of the cyber singles. I have as of late signed on to both of the aforementioned dating sites and not for the first time, either. :) Please bear with me as I venture into the world of emails, IMs, late night phone calls, emotional roller-coaster rides and micro-relationships. I apologize in advance for getting caught up too soon and regaling you all with far too many quips, quotes and anecdotes from the men I anticipate communicating with. You know how it'll be. You've been there with me before. Bear this in mind, my friends: There will be an end to it all. Someday. I promise. :)

The Pink Ladies

This came in as a comment from my lovely friend, Joelle. She is fabulous and this is why:

"Pink, eh? The only thing that comes to mind is: The Pink Ladies pledge

to act cool
to look cool
and to BE cool...

til death do us part,

THINK PINK!"

Joelle kicks ass.

That is all...

In Memoriam

Yes, it's true. It's been a looooong time, but that doesn't mean that I haven't been thinking about you all... :) And you knew I would post today, the Day of Pink, St. Valentine's Day. Although I am not in love, I still very much am loving and therefore celebrating PINK...

So, why have I been gone for so long, you may ask... Well, I'll tell you why. My life was in turmoil for approximately 2 weeks. It seems that it apparently wasn't enough for me to be ending a romantic relationship with a certain gentleman but I also needed to have my maternal grandmother pass away unexpectedly. On top of those life-changing experiences I am also working 60 hour weeks. Blah...

I do not share all of this with you because I am a whiner nor am I a complainer. Ending the relationship was and still is a VERY wise and VERY healthy decision. My grandmother's passing was a blessing in disguise (sorry for the cliche'...) as she was 92, getting quite ill and had a full life. I will see her again in heaven, although hopefully not until I am at least 92. Not to mention, I got to see all my fabulous family again so close to the Christmas holidays! And the 60 hour work weeks have made it possible for me to buy TWO new pairs of PHAT boots. I love overtime pay ALMOST as much as I love Shoe Pavilion. And one of those fabulous pairs of boots is black suede. With pink accoutrement. They rock. Just sayin'...

Pink Ladies

Hi... this is Bert. Lisa's friend. Apparently, I get to add to her blog directly! This is how I know I'm special. I also have access to her calendar... to which I add humorous comments occasionally.

Furthermore, I've known Lisa a long time, and I have no doubt that she will come back into my posts and edit my grammar and punctuation... which will just make me seem even smarter... So I suppose I have no problem with this little OCD habit of hers. In fact, perhaps I'll make some mistaiks on purpose to see if she'll fiks them.

This is a test of the Emergency Bertcasting System. If this were a real message, it would say something intelligent. BEEEEEEP!
